I Need a Website and More

"As an instructor of web site design, I know that it is difficult to evaluate the abilities of a web author simply by viewing some examples of his or her work. This is because each web site is designed to be a unique reflection of its owner and targeted to a specific purpose. Some sites should be dynamic and visually stimulating. Others should be lean and simple. Good web authors know this and reach beyond any personal design bias by focusing on the needs of each site’s owner and prospective users. When Peggy was commissioned by the IRSC Advanced Technology Division, she faced a daunting challenge of designing a web site that combined the unique and specific needs of many different instructional departments while maintaining a consistent layout and visual character required by the division as a whole. In my opinion she succeeded admirably. The diversity of input and demands that she responded to was formidable, and yet she gave each person her undivided attention and effectively blended all of the input she was given into a result that satisfied the entire group.

She demonstrated the kind of calming “can do” attitude that is so often lacking in today’s computer professionals, while bringing to bear a well developed collection of technical skills needed to accomplish the work required for the development of our site.
